Aguna - Georgian Fine Wine Agency founded by wife and husband team, Ekaterine Cox, the Georgian and Richard Cox, the Brit. This partnership enhances our expertise in the field by understanding and communicating effectively with Georgian Wine producers to ensure the authenticity and quality of the wine production whilst managing the supply chain and understanding the UK market requirements.
We are based in London and all our wines are stored at London City Bond, Tilbury in their bonded warehouse (duty paid terms are available). We work with a carefully selected network of regional wholesalers and independent merchants. The size and depth of our range allows us to supply a growing number of trade customers with exciting and high quality Georgian wine, while respecting regional exclusivity and building long-term and mutually beneficial relationships.
We import wines from small to medium producers from Georgia, who tend their vineyards and produce their wines with a passion evolved from 8000 years of wine making tradition, whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and authenticity. Artifacts excavated and carbon-dated to 6000 B.C. prove that Georgia is the oldest wine-making country in the world and with its ancient traditions and extensive varieties of indigenous grapes, Georgians have been making wine in clay vessels called Qvevri uninterrupted for 8000 years. Aguna – Georgian Fine Wine Agency represents in the UK, wine-makers from this beautiful and unique country. The name Aguna comes from ancient Georgian mythology, where Aguna was the god of viticulture and of wine making who is analogous with the Greek and Roman gods Dionysus and Baccus.
